RESUMEN

Introducción: El uso de medicación e irrigación intraconducto, tiene como finalidad disminuir la carga bacteriana en el sistema de conductos radiculares, de esta manera obteniendo la desinfección de los mismos y además disminuir el dolor e inflamación que en si la patología pulpar produce; de esta manera conseguir un éxito en el tratamiento de Endodoncia.

Objetivo: Demostrar la eficacia del uso del fenol al 10% en la desinfección de conductos radiculares.

Métodos:  Se realizó un tratamiento pulpo radicular en un 23 con el uso del fenol al 10% para lograr la desinfección del conducto radicular.

Resultados: Se logró la desinfección del conducto radicular con el uso del fenol al 10% como única sustancia química.

Conclusiones: Se demostró la eficacia del fenol al 10% en la desinfección del conducto radicular al evitar recidivas de los gérmenes en los conductos y reducción del número de visitas de los pacientes por necesidad del tratamiento.

ABSTRACT

Introduction:  The purpose of the use of medication and intracanal irrigation is to reduce the bacterial load in the root canal system, thus obtaining their disinfection and also reducing the pain and inflammation that the pulp pathology produces; in this way to achieve a successful endodontic treatment.

Objective: To demonstrate the efficacy of the use of 10% phenol in the disinfection of root canals.

Methods: A root octopus treatment was performed in 23 patients with the use of 10% phenol to achieve disinfection of the root canal.

Results: Root canal disinfection was achieved with the use of 10% phenol as the only chemical substance.

Conclusions: The efficacy of 10% phenol in the disinfection of the root canal was demonstrated by avoiding recurrence of the germs in the canals and reducing the number of patient visits due to the need for treatment.
